Frequently Asked Gold Questions ...

Q: How much will you pay for my gold?

A: You can check our live gold prices online right now.  Why do we do this?  Because we want you to shop around and compare our rates to our competitors.  We want you to get the best, highest price for your gold, and shopping around is the only way to accomplish this.  We want you to get the most for your gold, no matter who you sell it to.  Your family need it.  Do yourself a favor and compare gold prices before you sell to anyone.

Market research has shown that we pay more for gold than our competitors.  The reason is low overhead.  We don't spend a fortune to advertise on television like our competitors.  Lower costs means a higher offer for your gold!

Q: I am a dealer, how much do you pay per pennyweight?

A: If you are a dealer, who buys and sells gold regularly, please call us for special pricing.

Q: How will I know when you have received my gold shipment?

A: As soon as your gold shipment arrives at our store, we will test it, weight it, and call you with an offer.

If you do not hear from us within seven (7) business days after mailing your gold, please call our toll-free number.  A member of our staff will be able to determine if and when we received the gold package from you, and our offer.

If you are satisfied with our offer, we will send out payment that day.  Note: A seven (7) business day waiting period allows ample time for packages to arrive in the mail, especially if sent from rural areas, during winter and at holiday times.

Q: What if I am not satisfied with the amount of the offer?

A: If you are not satisfied with our offer, we will be happy to ship your gold items back to you promptly at no charge.

Q: What do you mean by shipping and insurance assistance?

A: Arnold Jewelers will reimburse each customer up to $15.00 US dollars, to assist them with inbound shipping/insurance costs.  The appropriate sum of money will be credited to your order at the time of processing. Again, the seller (customer) will need to cover these cost initially when the package is mailed to us. You do have the option to ship your gold by any method you choose.

Q: By what method do you recommend shipping gold to you?

A: We recommend that all inbound gold shipments be mailed to us by "registered" mail.  Again, you are free to send gold to us by any method you wish.  Please bear in mind, that Arnold Jewelers only contributes up to $15.00 towards shipping costs, no matter which method you use to ship to us.  Shipping and insurance costs that exceed $15.00 are the responsibility of the seller. In other words, if overnight a package to us, it will be your responsibility to pay all shipping charges exceeding $15.00 US

A less expensive alternative for parcels valued less than $500.00 is to send them regular mail with insurance. If sending by this method, please make sure to adequately insure your gold contents.  The local post office will have more information on insuring your package that breaks down insurance coverage and related costs.  However, with parcels valued over $500.00, registered mail becomes more cost effective. Registered mail is by far the safest of the two shipping methods due to the strict "chain of custody" policy that is used.  For this reason, registered mail never gets lost. However, it can be costly for small, low value items.  Again, go with whichever method you are comfortable with.

Note: Please do not send your gold in several packages (versus 1 large package) in an attempt to get the $15.00 shipping/insurance credit for each small order. Although a clever idea, it makes it impossible for us to maintain a profit. If you have checked the competition, you know that Arnold Jewelers pays out very fairly, more than any other company that we know of.  Low overhead and high volume is the only way this is possible, as we operate on a very small profit margin.

Q: How do I know that I can trust you with my gold?

A: Every once in a while, we receive a call asking the aforementioned question.  We don't take it personally, and realize that we live in trying times where it is often difficult to know who to trust.

If you are concerned, you are welcome to check us out with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, or local Better Business Bureau.  Since 1985, Arnold Jewelers has strived to be a leader in the Bay Area, providing exceptional service and fine jewelry.  We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust.  We are confident that once you do business with family-owned Arnold Jewelers, you will never do business with another Jeweler again.

Q: Do I have to list every single item your item list and payment options form?

A: No. If you have a large number of items, and do not wish to list each one, you are not required to do so. However, we would appreciate it if you would at least list the total number of items that you are sending to us.  This will prevent any misunderstandings. Excellent quality control and customer relations are very important to us.
